Facilitating crisis intervention courses in the community.

Crisis. What is it? It seems to dominate the news and our worries.

Each time a community of people just like ourselves is affected by its ripple.

I personally want to know who is interested in this subject and professionally to equip attendees with the information and interaction tools that can assist supported and unsupported populations to deal with dramatic or unanticipated change.

It is my undergraduate capstone project to evaluate whether or not participants feel more prepared following the training than before it has occurred to address crisis as it is presented in their lives. To ensure openness in enrollment I welcome all persons interested in learning about the critical incident stress management system and how stress is involved in crisis.

I am an approved instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. and Crisis Prevention Institute since 2017. These courses are designed for anyone in the fields of client care, crisis intervention, disaster response, education, emergency services, employee assistance, healthcare, homeland security, industrial/organizational psychology, mental health, military, spiritual care,/chaplains, and traumatic stress. I encourage everyone to learn about CISM: https://icisf.org/   https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/emergencypreparedness/guides/critical.html

I am doing this for no pay after expenses, because I consider it most valuable to routinely practice. Due to my need to consider my health and my active enrollment at university, I am not considering this a price that I can maintain beyond the scheduled times and place given its cost and load. I welcome all interested persons to attend and sincerely hope to share tools and strategies attendees can implement in their communities and support systems.
